About the event

Charlotte, NC – August 5, 2021 – On Saturday, August 28, 2021 the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte (100), with presenting sponsor, Lowe’s, Inc., will host an array of Greater Charlotte artists showcasing their talent during the First Annual QC Live Art Experience.

The QC Live Art Experience is a fundraising event benefitting both the 100’s flagship program, Movement of Youth (MOY), as well as the participating artists. Duvale Murchison, SVP of 100 Programming, states: “Art is everywhere you look…from the skyscrapers to the murals on building walls. Programs such as these help to support local artists and strengthen community partnerships, while also enabling the 100 to secure funding to power the best-in-class programming our mentees deserve.”

The Live Art Experience will begin at 11am, at 229 on Brevard, with hors d’ oeuvres, beverages and COVID friendly art viewing options. It will conclude with a silent auction, affording attendees an opportunity to purchase pieces created during the event. Tickets are available to the public and may be purchased by visiting Eventbrite (alternatively search “QC Live Art Experience”).

The Movement of Youth (MOY) Program is a development program responsible for positively impacting over 15,000 young lives since its inception by the Greater Charlotte chapter in 1992. MOY’s mission is to promote high self-esteem youth with an appreciation for education. This is accomplished through Saturday Academy, a twice-monthly rotation of workshops in citizenship, leadership development, life/study skills, financial literacy, cultural enrichment and community service.

More than 300 Saturday Academy sessions have been conducted for the betterment of our mentees. Last academic calendar’s list of presenters donned a plethora of Charlotte Executives, elected officials, as well as a special virtual visit from Billionaire, Robert F Smith.
