Reginald Grant
President
Professional Background: With over a decade of experience in business and information technology, Reggie currently serves as a Senior Technology Manager at Bank of America in Charlotte. He leads release management for Enterprise Data Privacy and Protection. Reggie's expertise is bolstered by esteemed certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), showcasing his unwavering commitment to excellence in his field.
Involvement with the Organization: Reggie is an active member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte and has held key leadership positions on the Executive Board, including Senior Vice President of Programs and Vice President of Economic Empowerment. He is known for his dedication to mentorship and education within the organization, which earned him the prestigious Mentor of the Year Award following his inaugural year on the Executive Board.
Key Accomplishments: The organization has recognized Reggie's commitment to mentorship and education through his significant contributions and exemplary leadership.
Commitment to the Mission: Reggie is deeply committed to the organization's mission, particularly in the areas of community service, youth empowerment, and education.
Community Involvement: Reggie actively engages in community service and youth empowerment initiatives, aligning with the values of the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte.
Personal Interests: Reggie is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Kendra, have a daughter, Déja. Déja is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at Meharry Medical College in Nashville.
Victor Burgess Mack
President Elect
Educator, administrator, and community engagement advocate define a career of service in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area for Dr. Victor Burgess Mack. A commitment to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics have been demonstrated through two years of mathematics instruction at Providence High School and 16 years of directing the Office of Educational Outreach at UNC Charlotte. For the past 3 years, Dr. Mack has directed the UNC Charlotte STEM Pre-College Program, providing professional development opportunities for teachers and sponsoring K-12 initiatives for area youth.
A philosophy of life-long learning is supported by his B.S. in mathematics education from North Carolina A&T State University, M.Ed. in Instructional Systems Technology and Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction specializing in Urban Education from UNC Charlotte. Dr. Mack's most recent educational endeavor is his participation in the first cohort of the UNC Charlotte Coding Bootcamp. His interest in coding stems from a growing use of multiple technologies in his current position as Director of STEM Pre-College Program and use of technology to pursue multiple interests in his leisure time. Web platforms such as TouchNet Marketplace, Drupal, and WordPress along with Microsoft Office Suite are primary tools that he uses in his current capacity. Dr. Mack’s experiences in the UNC Charlotte Coding Bootcamp have exposed him to FireBase, Heroku, Git/GitHub along with programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and Python. He anxiously looks forward to future implementation of these new skills in new career opportunities and potential integration in current work responsibilities.
Dr. Mack has a passion for sports, the outdoors, swimming, and music. He enjoys competition whether he is playing or watching the game. With a focus on community service, Dr. Mack looks forward to working with you in the near future.
Aaron Means
Immediate Past President
Aaron Means is the former IBM Charlotte Site Initiatives Manager and Import/Export Regulation Executive and was responsible for employee programs, import/export regulations, and assisting the Senior Location Executive with community involvement for the IBM Charlotte Site.
He worked for IBM for 38 years and has lived in Charlotte since 1996. His background includes various marketing support positions, including Business Controls Manager, Sales Planning Manager, and Administration Manager. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Knoxville College and has done extensive graduate study at the University of Tennessee in Guidance and Counseling.
Additionally, he has a technical degree in computer programming from ECPI. Aaron is also a certified Positive Parenting
Program practitioner and a Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity member. He is active in the Charlotte Community, serving on numerous Boards and Advisory Councils.
Duvale Murchison
SVP of MOY Programs
Duvale Murchison grew up in Lansing, Michigan, a small, once blue-collar factory town where the values of hard work, integrity, and community service were instilled in him early, shaping his relentless commitment to social change.
Currently, Duvale serves as the Senior Vice President of Programs for the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte. His career began in law enforcement, where he spent 27 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before retiring. He holds an extensive background in criminal justice, leadership, supervision, management, and coaching.
After retiring in 2014, Duvale transitioned into acting and film production. He also has two decades of experience in radio broadcasting, one decade working in the gospel music industry, and nearly 15 years promoting a national clean/Christian comedy tour that he founded called “Laughalujah”. He is the founder of Duvale Murchison Videography, a full-time video production and filmmaking company.
When not producing video content, Duvale is deeply involved with the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, serving as its SVP of Programs. He is responsible for leading programming initiatives aimed at youth mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment. He is also the Charlotte Coordinator for Black Men’s Wellness Day, an annual 5k walk/run event that also offers numerous free health care screenings to Black men.
Dewayne Allen
SVP of Leadership Development / Director of Pathways
DeWayne Allen is the Strategic Capture Executive for Raytheon's Advanced Products and Solutions business unit, an RTX Business. DeWayne is responsible for leading the Self-Protection capture strategy for all
widebody and HVAA (High-Value Airborne Assets) platforms in this role. DeWayne is also responsible for all the growth and new business activities for the Global Army and Navy business for the EO/IR sub-business unit valued
at $1B.
DeWayne is driven by a passion for mentoring and pursuing youth interests in the STEM fields. DeWayne has been a longtime advisor with the National Society of Black Engineers and Black Engineer of the Year STEM Conference. DeWayne has also served on several non-profit boards, including the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, The University of Tennessee Haslam School of Business, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the Tucson and Southern Arizona Chamber of Commerce.
DeWayne holds a dual Bachelor of Science in industrial and manufacturing engineering and business from Tennessee Technological University and an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix—Southern Arizona. He also holds several Systems Engineering, Project Management, and Lean Manufacturing certifications and received an Executive MBA in Aerospace and Defense at the University of Tennessee.
Mario King
VP of Economic Empowerment
I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. My hometown is responsible for the foundation and values I carry today. I'm currently an independent insurance agency owner of Ebullient Insurance Agency. I received my BA in Communication and my MBA with a concentration on entrepreneurship.
I attended the University of Memphis and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. When it comes to certifications, I have some sales certifications in various disciplines. As a hobby, I enjoy reading/writing, creating content, sports (football/basketball) and spending time with friends/family. I'm also a member of NAAIA (National African American Insurance Association). Something else that makes me who I am is the fact that I enjoy learning new things and have a knack for learning about people's journey!!!
Dr. Tommy Watson
VP of Mentoring
I’m Dr. Tommy Watson, and I proudly grew up in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, the first Black neighborhood in the state. This community has profoundly influenced my journey, instilling in me a deep sense of resilience that has shaped my life and career. As an entrepreneur, I have earned four degrees, including a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from the University of Minnesota, where I also played football. Currently, I lead T.A. Watson, my organization focused on speaking, coaching, and consulting, where I strive to empower others to realize their potential. I am an ICF-certified Executive and Professional Coach, a credential that enhances my ability to facilitate meaningful transformations for my clients. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, golfing, and spending quality time with my family, which keeps me grounded and connected. I’m also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Additionally, I am in the process of creating a movie about my life titled "Resilient!" which chronicles my journey from homelessness to earning my doctorate. I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to overcome their challenges and pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles they face.
Robert Taylor
VP of Technology
Robert B. Taylor works for the City of Charlotte as Business Systems Manager. I’m an 17-year City of
Charlotte employee, experienced Business Systems Process Improvement Manager with a
demonstrated history of working in the government administration industry. I am a strong information
technology professional skilled in a Analytical Skills, Government, Team Building, Management, and
Software Documentation. I lead an initiative to complete an initial Alternative Fuels Study Strategic Plan
for the City of Charlotte.
Robert received the National Presidential Nominating Convention “Heritage Coin” from the National
Democratic Party 2012, South Carolina State Charlotte Chapter Alumnus Of The Year 2017, and Omega
Man Of The Year 1994.
Robert has served as the President of Charlotte Chapter of South Carolina State University National
Alumni Association, Past Vice Chairman of the Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition, Past Assistant Scout
Master Troop 107 for University Park Church and a 2017 initiate of the 100 Black Men of Charlotte and
was recently elected to the Board of Directors as Vice President of Technology.
Robert has a B.S. Electrical Engineering Technology from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC
and Master of Business Administration M.B.A from Webster University, St. Louis, MO.
Michael Guerin
Director of Engagements
Michael Guerin has enjoyed a career in Technology, Finance, and Management Consulting over the past 18 years with companies such as Kraft Foods, Commerce Bank, and Wells Fargo. He is currently a 10-year veteran of Wells Fargo and has served in various Technology and Strategy roles throughout Enterprise Finance & Information Technology and more recently, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence for Auto Operations, providing Technology Strategy, Relationship Management, Metrics Strategy, and Operational Excellence expertise.
In the community, Michael is the SVP of Leadership Development for the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, serving on the Board of Directors, contributing as a STEAM Robotics coach, and mentor. He serves on the Executive Board for the Howard University Alumni Association in Charlotte where he previously served 2 terms as President and is a member of the National Black MBA Association.
Originally from Willingboro, N.J., Michael is a graduate of Howard University in Washington D.C., with a BBA in Computer Information Systems, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning an MBA in Finance & Real Estate Development, and a recipient of the UCLA - Anderson Executive Education Certificate. Michael is married and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and daughter.
Kenric Brooks
Director of STEAM
Kenric Brooks is a 14 year employee of Verizon. Having served in various management and leadership roles, his current role is that of Retail Small & Medium Business Sales Manager responsible for implementing technology solutions for small and medium businesses in the Charlotte Market.
Kenric volunteers coaching youth sports as well as mentoring future professionals in the NBMBAA college mentoring program. His community work earned him a Verizon President’s Coin of Excellence for 2017.
Kenric currently serves on the board of directors for the Steele Tuff Trojans Youth Athletics and The 100 Black Men of Charlotte
Kenric earned his B.B.A. in Marketing at Howard University in 2000, and later received his M.B.A. from Walden University in 2009.
